Mohammad Yusuf said that if the incident had happened in the night, we would not have even known and we would have drowned in the lake along with the houseboat and our bodies could not be found as the Dal Lake is also in spate due to the recent rains. Mohammad Yusuf said, “My houseboat has become old. I want to repair it and in this regard I had sought permission from the concerned department many times but they did not pay any attention.

Yusuf said that due to the indifference of the concerned department, he has become homeless today, as his houseboat has been badly damaged in this incident and he has not been able to live. He appealed to the administration for compensation and permission to repair his damaged houseboat.
